Mr. Cheffers is also a researcher, author, and litigation consulting specialist. He is the co-author of Understanding Accounting Ethics, a graduate level text used widely to explain both from a philosophical and experiential basis the essential importance and uniqueness of the accounting profession. Mr. Cheffers is a regular commentator in the major financial press on matters of accounting and corporate governance. Prior to founding Ives Group, Mr. Cheffers spent 15 years operating a highly successful litigation consulting firm, specializing in fraud investigations and litigation consulting on large and complex cases. Mr. Cheffers began his career at KPMG in Boston and later joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in Sydney, Australia, where he was promoted to Manager. Later he spent time as a public company CFO before leaving that assignment to attend graduate school. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and has achieved its Accredited Business Valuation (ABV) professional designation.
Mr. Cheffers has a BSBA, magna cum laude, in accounting and finance from Boston University (1982) and an MBA from the Harvard Business School (1990).
